The speed of our “bone formation” is higher than that of “bone resorption” when we are young. Before the age of 30, our bone density continues to increase. However, after 35, the speed of “bone resorption” becomes faster than that of “bone formation”, and the density of our bone decreases. Osteoporosis causes the bone to become brittle, greatly increasing the risk of fracture. Osteoporosis-related fractures most commonly occur in the spine, hip or wrist.
