Eat The Right Food To Fight Acnes

4303 view(s)

Are acnes a result of toxins accumulating in the body? Traditional Chinese medicine doctors believe that the human body is filled with toxins. Those that cannot be excreted in time, or those that can have negative effects to the mind and body can be called “toxins”. These toxins will accumulate in the organs and cause them to weaken and accelerate the aging process. The different body parts that rely on the organs will also weaken and produce abnormalities.

According to the “Five Elements Theory” of the traditional Chinese medicine, the “five organs” are counterparts to the “five elements” as well as “five colours”. That is to say, “heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney” are the counterparts to “fire, wood, earth, metal, water” and “red, green, yellow, white, black”. In addition, the face also reflects the “five organs”. According to the Huangdi Neijing, “those with liver problems will have heated left cheek; those with heart problems will have heated face; those with spleen problems will have heated nose; those with lung problems will have heated right cheek; those with kidney problems will have heated chin” The location of the acne will reveal the problematic organs. We can improve the health of our organs by eating food with the five colours, so as to help with excretion.

Acnes on the forehead

Counterpart: Heart; eat red food

The reason acnes grow on our forehead has a lot to do with staying up late, insomnia, pressure, overthinking. These will cause restlessness which is related to parasympathetic disorders.

It is recommended that those with this issue eat “red food” such as red beans and red dates. Red is linked to fire; it can help restore blood and energy.

Acnes on the nose

Counterpart: Spleen; eat yellow food

If the acnes are grown on the tip, bridge, or side of the nose, then it means the spleen is hot and damp and the digestive system is not working well. This is mostly a result of consuming food with high calories, fried food, or heavily-seasoned food, the problem is also common among those who eat late-night snacks often.

It is recommended that those with this issue eat “yellow food” such as soy bean, pumpkin, sweet potato to help calm the spleen prevent acnes from growing on the nose.

Acnes on the left side of the cheek

Counterpart: Liver; eat green food

Acnes on the left side of the cheek is often a result of poor liver function. This has a lot to do with being under high pressure and experiencing fluctuating mood.

It is recommended that those with this issue eat “green food” such as dark green vegetables, celery, kiwi, and mung beans to soothe the liver and help detoxify.

Acnes on the right side of the cheek

Counterpart: Lungs; eat white food

Acnes on the right side of the cheek may be a result of lung issues. Those with this issue should take extra care of their respiratory system, and try to quit smoking. In addition, the right side of the cheek is linked to the lungs, so those who tend to stay up late has a higher chance have acnes on their right cheek.

It is recommended that those with this issue eat “white food” such as daikon, snow fungus, lily and almond.

Acnes on the chin

Counterpart: Kidney; eat black food

Those with acnes on the chin are often people who have “weak kidney”. For woman, this is largely linked to menstruation and endocrine. For example, woman often have acnes on their chin before menstruation. Traditional Chinese medicine doctors believe that since kidney is what controls the endocrine system, kidney should be the organ that ought to be cared for when dealing with acnes on the chin. In addition, remember to drink less beverages and more water to detoxify, and to eat less cold food.

It is recommended that those with this issue eat “black food” such as black fungus, seaweed or date-plum.
