East: Hualien Fenglin

Where to go in the Taiwan’s first slow town, Hualien Fenglin

As the first ever town in Taiwan to be acknowledged by the Cittaslow International, Fenglin is located between the Huadong Valley and the Coastal Mountain Range, and is one of the most popular bike trail.

LiaoKuaiYuLou is currently not accepting visitors; Lintian-jinja gives a mysterious vibe; Fenghuang requires moderate energy.

The locals recommend the chives stinky tofu; the three-beans ice from Ming-sin Ice Bar; and the famous Grandpa Han is something not to miss.
